Parkfield Dental Surgery, Taunton

Parkfield Dental Taunton was originally based in the High Street then being called Powlett House but moved to its current location in November 1985. We have retained many of the original features of the building that once housed the local GP surgery. The building won awards for its architecture. We have 6 surgeries, all of which are on the ground floor and fully air-conditioned for your comfort. Each surgery has digital xray facilities and the latest equipment is available including intra-oral scanners and rotary endodontics. We have also recently had a brand new CBCT suite installed.

Limited parking is available at the practice including a motorcycle bay and cycle stands.

There is also on street parking and public carparks within a few minutes walk, for busier times.

Dental Care

During your routine examination your dentist will provide a thorough check of all your teeth and soft tissues, this will include a full oral cancer screening. You will be advised of any treatment that is clinically necessary and the cost. A recall will be suggested to suit each patients individual need. Should you require cosmetic treatments we will be more than happy to discuss this with you. Our dentists have a wealth of experience and specialise in treatments such as orthodontics (clear aligners and fixed), endodontics, implants, facial aesthetics and snoring devices. It may be that an in-house referral to a particular clinician with a specialist interest is requires and this can be done with ease and at your convenience.

We have experienced Dental Hygienists at the practice who can see patients on a self referral basis, know as direct access, or under the prescription of your dental care provider. They are incredibly knowledgeable and will be able to show you how best to maintain your oral health and advise which toothbrush and inter-dental aids will offer you the best results.

For more expensive treatments we can signpost you to Practi who may be able to offer finance should this be suitable for you.

Emergencies

We know that toothache is one of the worst pains people suffer and we try our best to see patients within 24 hours, however we do have to prioritise emergencies, and this may not always be possible. We keep appointments available daily, these are not released until 9am each day, these are not available after 4pm.  You will go through a rigorous triage with our trained receptionists who will book you with the most appropriate clinician.

There is a non-routine charge for these appointments.

Cost of Treatment

A comprehensive list of charges is available on request. We also offer monthly plans through Practice Plan which allow you to spread the cost of routine care starting from £12 a month. Your dental clinician can advise you of the most appropriate plan for your needs. All plan members will receive a 10% discount on dental treatment excluding implants and orthodontics.

Testimonial

I requested to have an appointment by phone as soon as the surgery opened, I was given one that morning. The dentist soon established which tooth was giving the pain and we decided removal was the best course of action. 45 minutes later after a fight with the root of the tooth I was leaving the surgery much relieved of pain. The whole procedure was as good as it gets. Many Thanks for the Service

Testimonial

Honestly wonderful experience! I just moved to Parkfield due to problems with my old surgery. All the Parkfield staff were friendly, helpful and very accommodating. The understanding, compassion and skill of the dentist was amazing. He talked me through what work needed doing and explained fully without being dismissive or patronising. Really, they highlighted for me how bad my previous surgery was.
